Querry regarding study permit extension

Hi everyone,

My study permit expired on 31st dec 2023 but i’ve already applied for an extension on 2nd dec. Can i study and work even if I haven’t received approval yet. Even if i can work what with the sin, it’s expired too. Then how will that sin thing work out. Do i have to visit service canada?
Has anyone got their study permit extension recently?
