No, I don't think it will have any effect. I called but they just said I need to wait!
Effect - no, but they would tell if you have at least passed the first stage of the screening. From the recent trends, I’m afraid we’ll be stuck just at the CSIS stage for more than a year simply because the government did a lay off and left, say, 3 high clearance analysts to do 20000 security screenings a year.

Did you file by yourself or with Lawyer? It's frustrating. (Did you receive FD notification)

It’s terrible. There is no fixed due date neither for IRCC nor for its security partners… I filed by myself - no issues. In any case, a lawyer would not have helped avoiding the damned screening unfortunately.

Hi, what are the stages of the screening? My notes from April says "received by CBSA" since Feb actually. does everybody on A34 screening go for CSIS? It sounds like we are stuck!

1) Received by CBSA
2) In progress by CBSA
3) Favorable/Defavorable

If the status doesn’t change from Received to In progress within 24 hours, instead of automatic search in CSIS databases, the screening will be subjected to manual review by an analyst and this will take eternity... Having SII Indicator: Yes (probably redacted) in the GCMS notes garanties manual review. Once CSIS is done, the status would change to In progress by CBSA and it would be up to them to finish the security screening and send the conclusion to IRCC.
