Hi Everyone,

I have a question, an i am waiting for P2 and right now as my Status is single, what if i Inform IRCC that my status has been changed from Single to Common Law Partner, Would it delay my PR Process and How and what what things i have to submit for my Partner?
Please help me.
Thank You
Hey!
If you decide to inform IRCC about your change of status, you might want to add to the form IMM 5409 https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ication/application-forms-guides/imm5409.html .
This is the form to add when officially declaring common law status. It needs to be signed by a third party (notary public, commissioner of oaths, or commissioner of taking affidavits).
But to be honest, I am not sure what this will change to your PR application, probably nothing, but who knows.
And congrats on your P2 :)

Does anyone have experience with how long it usually takes for the file to get updated after submitting requested additional documents?

I’d appreciate hearing about your timelines!

It took a month for my document. I submitted it via webform on Feb 25 and they updated the status in my gckey account on March 25.

Thanks for the reply. After passing the medical exam in mid-March, I submitted the additional documents in April, and since then, there have been no updates. I just wanted to ask how long it took for others. It was helpful, thank you!

Hi !
Just a quick question,

I've been in the background check process since March 25. As my file is rather simple, I'm wondering if it's normal to wait so long. Knowing that I had my medical check-up on March 14

Do you have similar experience? I see more and more people getting their final decision in less than 1 month.

Nothing extraordinary. Every file is different. If you're still stuck there for a few more weeks you can order GCMS notes to see if it's not enhanced BGC
