Can anyone share how long it takes to get AOR after XEP?

I'm currently on a closed WP, but I have a job offer for a new company starting in May/June. I want to apply for BOWP so I can work at the new company, but I need AOR to be eligible.

My timeline for federal stage so far:
  • March 17, 2022 - submitted PR application
  • March 21, 2022 - application received by IRCC
  • March 31, 2022 - XEP received
I'm worried I won't get AOR in time and I will lose the job offer :(

I'm grateful for any advice or information you can share!

So far it takes around 7-8 months for getting AOR after your submission.

I’m so sorry to hear this but wanted to let you know I just lost two job offers unfortunately and I applied for BOWP in early Jan. Lawyer says they haven’t even started eligibility yet and I’ve had AOR since Nov ‘21. Just wanted to give you the heads up maybe you should try for closed WP as it MIGHT be faster. If you have CSQ and WC employer. I put might in caps because nothing seems to be ~2-3 weeks max like it used to be. It’s all 4 months+. I opened a web form, contacted my MP, have done everything I can since my implied status required I remain with the same employer when the whole point was to change employers! So I’m now on EI when I could be making much more and most importantly, contributing to the economy vs needing to be supported by it. Assume IRCC just does not care about our particular situation and see if there is any other avenue that could be explored. AOR receipt is never a guaranteed timeline or any of these avenues really. Good luck to you and again just my example. I really hope this doesn’t happen to you but wanted you to have worse case scenario so you’re aware.

Hello,
I just have a question. I was asked to re-submit schedule A last October, which I did. But it still shows:

  • October 15, 2021 We are reviewing the additional documents you provided.
And it's also showing that they are still processing my background check, yet I passed the medical exam. Is it possible that it's still under process?

Thanks in advance
