Hi, in the ECAS you should have something like this:

We received your application for permanent residence on xxxxxx.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on Xxxxxx.
We started processing your application on Xxxxxxx.

The second one says "acknowledging" that will be the AOR (Acknowledge Of Receipt).

Thanks alemom..
So, long way for me to go..
following your forecast I'll have news around end of April 2017.
The wait is killing me.

This theory works for the inland applicants only or for the all the applicants?

No, @khanle made a mistake in the dates. In the previous page pasted the info from ECAS and the AOR date is 20-Mar-2106, so the "PPR theory date " should be around 22-Dec-2016.
Regarding @charlottemontreal, I see you checked the profile... like I did. Yes, 270 days exactly! I wrote wrong the date because is the one that @charlottemontreal wrote in the post (but was from the Med's), but the calculation was correct using the profile AOR date.
So, just wait and see who else receives the PPR and verify if this "theory" has meaning!

Thanks for your help everybody. Very creative and insightful assistance :)
Relieved to know that I have a "normal" waiting time... (some friends of mine who applied last year get the PPR much faster)
I hope we will get PPR before Christmas !!

Guys what does this mean

I sent my passport to them on 5th Dec 2016 as I received the PPR lately , does this mean they mailed the passport back to me?

  • Application/profile status Closed
  • Review of eligibility Passed
  • Review of medical results Passed
  • Review of submitted documents
  • Scheduling an interview
  • A background check is needed Complete
  • Final decision This application has been approved

Thanks

Hi @sunnymks,

So far and with the data I'm using (available here) works only for QSW category, inland applicants (mainly, I think so due to the visa office used), with AOR from march 2016, and most of them with Visa offices Ottawa and Nova Scotia only (because some doesn't have that info in their profiles), but looks like is that way.

I'm waiting for more results (PPR) of those I have in the table with AOR from Mar-2016 to say if is "true", but so far the elapsed time difference between all the approved ones is very similar, with a small deviation (+/- 4 days), so the more info the people post here, the better. I also have the data from some friends that applied same as me (end of last year) and they received the change of status or the PPR during the last two weeks (two couples).

I checked in this and other topics for previous dates and with too little samples (persons) I've found that last year was faster... but again not conclusive. For example those with AOR from Jun-2015 obtained their PPR after 215 days average (7 something months), but those between Sep-Dec-2015 after 174 days (little less than 6 months) +/- 14 days. But the samples are small. In average (taking the larger sample) all those from Jun-Dec-2016 obtained their PPR in an average close to 186 days (6 months) but with a standard deviation of +/- 22 days.

Hi guys,

Just checked cic status,

Permanent Residence Application Status : "Decision made"

So I am guessing they are figuring out about 'approved' or 'rejected'

The link account still provides this general info:

Application/profile status Open
Review of eligibility Review in Progress
Review of medical results Passed
Review of submitted documents
Scheduling an interview Not needed at this time
A background check is needed In Progress
Final decision Not Started

I think by the beginning of January,I should get PPR Insh'Allah

Received AOR on 25/11/2016 but still unable to find my application in ECAS

Anybody please help in this matter

Hi @m81,

Is not the PPR, but is some information. You obtained the "decision made" 273 days after your AOR (read about my "theory" in this thread)!
Congratulations

congrats, m81!

a small question for you: when did you submit the application to CIC (federal)?
your timeline indicates "application filed" on Dec 28 2012?! (that's for the CSQ?)
