If you please, could any one who applied for permanent residence tell me what is the meaning of CSQ number, is it fill number or reference number ?
another question, regarding to my status I just finished my studies and have CSQ, waiting to post graduation work permit so what should I write to my status and the date from / to ?
please advise
Thanks
CSQ number is the # on your "certificat de sélection du Quebec".

What exactly are you applying for/what forms are you filling out? Application for PR for a QSW? what *is* your current status? (Student? Visitor/implied status/out of status??? if yr study permit has expired & your PGWP has not yet been granted?)

Hi there,
I have a question for everybody who got the CSQ and applied to renew their work permit (while collecting all the documents to apply for the permanent residence).
It's been two months now that I sent the application to extend my visa but got no reply yet. Is that normal? What's your experience? Thanks

it's normal. See CIC processing times. They are currently working on applications received May/June (for in-Canada applications)

Hello Fellas ,

Hope everyone is doing good and waiting for some good news from immigration dept. Beleive in god all will be well .
I have couple of questions regarding my QSW application.

1) I had hired a lawyer in Canada and they had sent my application in Feb 2014 to Immigration office in Asia ( May be India office) because I am from India and they received an AOR in June 2014.

# So shall I start counting my days from Feb 2014 or from June 2014 ?

Ans :

2)I am confused about these two websites regarding processing times , which website to follow plz look below for website links and guide me :

NOTE == JUST WRITE "WWW" before these links

A) cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/skilled-que.asp#asia

---> In this website processing time for India is 26 Months . This website was last modified 2015-08-19 .
Look at the bottom of this website.

B) immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/permanent-workers/official-immigration-application/processing-times-table.php?pays=txt-pays-inde#formulaire_delais

----> In this website processing time for India is 40 Months . This website was last modified 2014-07-14
Look at the bottom of this website.

Hope I make myself clear .Please look into it and reply

It depends when they open your file. If you sent it in Feb then they would have opened your file around same time so Feb 2014 around this case.

A) cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/skilled-que.asp#asia

Look at the bottom of this website.

First website gives information on the federal application while the second website gives information on CSQ application. Since you first need a CSQ to apply Federal, in this case, the total time would be 40 (to get CSQ) + 26 (to get federal) = 66.

I hope this answer helps you.

Hi Everyone
A Question!
If you get your AOR late does it mean you gonna get your PR late too? I did not get mine yet and it is almost 3.5 months now

What do you mean by "late"? CIC estimates processing times from the reception of a complete application package. That's when they send you an AOR.

Depending on the visa office, 3-6 months is not an unusual time to wait for AOR.

Nope I got my AOR after 4 months but the rest of the process barely took another 2-3 months after that.

Anyone can advise please!!

I got the below message from my case manager and i'm not able to understand my situation.

File is in line for preliminary evaluation since August, 26,2015. File received in the 23rd of March,2015. Maximum delay for preliminary assessment is 3 months+ delay for selection are 9 months. Your file is still within regular processing time.

Do I have any risk? Either way does my application stand on a risk! Please advise already I passed the 2 months and currently running in the 3rd. :'( :'(

Appreciate your feedback.

Risk of what?

If your file is complete, you may not hear anything until you are selected. If your file does not meet requirements at preliminary review, you will be notified.

I know it's very tough, but you really can't do anything other than wait :(.

I need suggestion to renew my workpermit
I am in canada since from 4 years on closed workpermit
I have got the CSQ and applied for PR.
I am waiting for my AOR and expecting in Nov or Dec 2015.
Since my Closed workpermit going to expire in APR 2016.

As per the CIC rules, I reached the cap of 4 years in Canada.

I could apply for renewal of my workpermit before or after my AOR

please suggest how to renew my WP?

Exceptions
When you work within one of the occupations or categories listed below, the time you work in Canada is still counted toward your four-year maximum.

It is only when you apply for a work permit that these exceptions become relevant. An officer may issue a work permit to you if you have a job offer in one of these occupations/categories, even if you have already worked in Canada for four years.

These categories or occupations are the exceptions for which a work permit can exceed the four-year limit:

NOC O and A (including spouses/dependants of these skilled temporary foreign workers)
LMIA-exempt jobs under
International agreements
Canadian interests
Self-support
Humanitarian reasons
Jobs that do not need a work permit
Permanent resident applicants who have received a positive selection decision or approval in principle
Provincial nominees applying for an employer-specific work permit

Since you are a provincial nominee, you can apply an employer specific work permit with your CSQ.

I mean compared to those who got theirs in 2 months (including many of my friends)
Thanks so I need to wait more :)
