Hey guys!! I just received my CSQ via the Peq- quebec graduate program yesterday!! It showed up in my mailbox exactly in 20 days as promised. Super pumped to have gotten through the first step yet kinda nervous about the next. I cannot even begin to express how grateful I am to you all in this forum for all your support and advices. Im now gathering all my docs for the PR application as a QSW, so you can expect to hear back from me very soon! Wishing the rest of my comrades here all the success for your PR endeavors!
Hi cb3110, and thank you for your nice words!! Glad to have you on board! :) All the best!!

wtf man.....

CIC updated the lead times in Singapore to be 36 months. I applied in November 2013. I really do not like this. What is with the hold up?

What happens if my CSQ expires before I get the PR? Anybody has any idea?

I guess you have to renew it.
Even processing times in Ottawa went up by two months! :S

Is it possible to renew the CSQ? How does it work?

From what I have gathered, most people get their PRs within the validity of the cert and so, it doesn't seem to have provision for renewals.

Hello everyone! My various police certificates that I sent with my initial application to Sydney are going to expire and I have requested new ones. Do I send the updated certificates to the same PO Box 8888, Sydney, Nova Scotia B1P 0C9? I would assume so....

My timeline is as follows, for anyone interested:

App arrived in Sydney: 2014-05-14
AoR: 2014-07-16
Med request: 2014-09-12
Meds completed: 2014-09-18
Meds received: 2014-10-14

Received email response to query saying that my QSW application was now "in process" on 2014-10-18, but the Client Application Status page still only indicates Application & Medical Results Received.

Hi

Nice to hear all of your application progress (good luck). Also congratulate those who have received their PR visa.

I am gathering all the documents for my PR application. I need an information for police clearance certificate. Since I came here in Canada (2010), I didn't go back to my country. As I understood, CIC will ask about the background checking during the process of my application and I have to provide it that time. But my query is do I need to provide the police clearance for my own country (though I had to provide it in 2010 and I didn't go back to my country in these years) in my application now?
Also I didn't stay anywhere else outside of Canada more than six month. Once I just travel to US for a week.

Thanks for your answers.

Hi ps2qft,
Thank you for sharing your timeline. Is your application being processed in Ottawa (inland applicant)?
I would hold off on sending the new police certificates until they ask for them, since all of their communication ask us not to send anything unless asked. And who knows, maybe your app has already passed criminality check.
Of course that's only my opinion.

Best of luck and keep us posted!

They WILL ask for your police certificates from Canada, your home country, and any county you lived in for 6 months or more.
Now you can email them back when they ask for it and argue that you didn't go back since 2010, and they may accept your argument, but -in my opinion- probably not. Especially that the older police certificate was submitted for a different application.
I would order a police certificate from your country's consulate if that's a possibility, or prepare an argument as to why it's impossible if that's the case.
Best of luck with your application!

Thank you for your reply, MidoRafa. I jumped the gun and requested new certificates as I know they are only valid for a year. I definitely believe you are correct: in hindsight, I should have just waited to see if they would request new ones.

I am applying from the US with US citizenship. My application is accordingly being processed at CPP-Ottawa. They have not indicated to me whether or not my application has been transferred, however. Am I to expect an email indicating this?

Thank you to all.

Oh I think you did the right thing. I too am applying from the US and requested new FBI certificates last month since they take 4 months to process (!) and my old ones will expire in a month or so. I probably just wouldn't mail them unless asked to make sure they get to the right person/office, but that's just me.

Did they request your RPRF yet? It seems that most of us CPC-O applicants from March onwards haven't been asked for it yet, which I believe is the indication of whether they began processing our files. Otherwise there is no email that confirms processing status, except one towards the very end requesting passport photocopies and confirmation of your marital status/family composition.

I've yet to be asked for RPRF, passport photocopies or a confirmation of my marital status. Seems like I've got a long way to go!
