Most updates are done on tuesdays but it can happen at any time of the day at any time of the week. I read around 40% of the updates are done then. I think there is a 3 day- one week delay from the time they update to the time its changed. Information/medical /passport request are a separate thing.
thanks. hope u get your final letter soon

Let me know if you see a decision made on your CIC :) I don't need to send in my passport so I'm really only waiting for that status update.
Not yet. But I think you will be notified by email even if you don't need visa, and you can't do anything based on your status in CIC website.

Not from what i've heard - they just send you directly the COPR, but like I said there is a delay in the system for the update of the CIC so you'll probably get it sometime this weekend possibly. Decision made should mean that they will send out the copr soon.

I have a question. I applied for CSQ in Nov 2013, expecting AOR within a month. The question is I had sent a demand draft for the amount to be paid.
I have heard that the validity of demand draft is only for 3 months. And these guys taking time for AOR is 4-6 months. So will my DD expire? I come to know from Bank that DD still not encashed. and yet to have response from bank about the validity period of DD with dollar amount. Now it has been already 5 months passed, will my DD get expired? or international DD with mentioning canada branch within the DD has validity of more than 3 months?

Hi guys!

I`m glad I found this topic- it`s very informative!

I'm planning on applying for CSQ as soon as I graduate (in 10-12 days).

I'm applying alone (so it's probably the simplest immigration processing case) and I was wondering how many days does it usually take from the day that you send in your application (for federal stage) until they ask for medical examination? I'm asking because I have to leave the country after 1.5 months when I apply for federal stage and I'm hoping to get lucky and get the meds done by then?

Is that a possibility?

(Also does it matter if you apply as a student or worker under PEQ (for federal stage processing time?)

You'll need a letter of graduation with all your final grades on it before you can apply to CSQ, normally people apply 3-4 months before they graduate then all they have to send is the letter of graduation. It takes anywhere from 4-8 weeks after that to get the CSQ and then once you apply to the federal it can take 1 - 2 months to get med request. And no it doesn't differ, they're the same program essentially.

Thank you for your response!

I was thinking of sending the whole thing together. Is there any advantage in starting the process now and sending my letter of graduation in two weeks? I thought there won't be because the process is relatively fast (under 20 days based on QC immigration website)

(Just out of curiosity, why was your file sent to Ottawa? I haven't seen a similar case while I was looking at others' timelines!)

if you're staying in canada, ottawa is the final destination before they send out the visa/ppr.

@ ornob

My friends are 1 american, 1 south american. The american one sent in his application in July of 2013. He has submitted his med exams and the last update he had was the request of an additional certificate of good conduct from the canadian authorities since he had lived in Canada for more than 6 months prior to the application (he studied there for 4 years). This was a bummer as when you request this document from Canada it takes days to process, but requesting it from abroad takes around 6-9 weeks of what he told me (he is in the USA now, so 9 additional weeks have been added to his application).

The South American one submitted his in August of 2013. His meds were requested around October and he took around 2 months to submit them (he just left time pass...). He hasnt had any updates but his cons ultant has told him that he'll receive his PR around June.

And for me, I still haven't received any single update after "exams received". Before I left Canada in December I requested the canadian certificate of Good Conduct and forwarded it to my cons sultant as I had been warned about this by my american friend, but so far it hasn't even been requested by CIC.

@ Hstub, I strongly recommend you begin filling out all questionnaires and compiling the necessary documents. Some are really time consuming (example all your previous trips, activities and addresses since you were 18) and the police certificates of good conduct from your country. Remember they must be translated and certified if they're not in En/Fr. Arrange everything so when you receive your last necessary document all is ready to be sent. I graduated in June of 2013, received my CSQ end of July (wasted lots of time to fill all out), then just submitted my PR application early October because I didnt calculate how long it would be to gather all papers (as I stated I have 2 citizenships so it was double the work.
