Hi everyone,

I'm Australian and my Canadian partner and I are about to apply for a Common-Law visa for me. We've been together for 4+ years and have lived in Australia for the last 3 (she has a similar, common-law resident visa here). We plan on living with her mother, a Quebec resident, when we return and my partner has spent most of her life in Quebec, so it makes sense for her to apply as a Quebec resident.

However, on the last page of the Outland application checklist it says that Quebec residents should skip Item 20 - the part about providing proof that my partner will be living in Canada once I become a resident.

Are there any Quebecers out there who can share their experience with this matter?

You see the only proof that we have of her return is her plane ticket, which we have already bought, and we can easily get a letter from her mother stating our intention to live with her. I just don't want to go sending non-required information, possibly over-complicating the process

Cheers,
Jez

Don't worry about sending too much information...its much better to send more than have a IO decide that you need to have an interview. Have her mother write a letter stating her intentions to have the two of you live there and help out while the both of you get on your feet. Also, send some sort of information that she has been applying for jobs (write the date applied and company name, etc)

Since she has already bought her ticket, will she be going back before you get your PR? That looks really good. I would make a copy of the ticket and also write a little note on it.
