Hi Dounia, are you applying from the USA as well? what are your timelines like? when did you submit your Federal application, your medicals etc?

Hi Evgenii and welcome to the board,

There is no need to panic: the AOR email with the file number takes around 4 months to arrive these days (maybe even more because of the christmas/NY holidays). So I wouldn't start worrying about it until mid/late March.
Your emails and calls won't do anything unfortunately (they take at least one month to respond to emails, and often not saying anything at all).

Try to relax and forget about it for a while. That's the healthy thing to do :)
Hi, thank you.
You was right. I got my AOR this morning on my mailbox. It took 117 days to get it.

Congratulations! Now I'm jealous!
I applied 6 days after you. I wasn't expecting my AOR until late April but maybe they are really starting to process applications faster now?! Now I'm excited! ;D

Also...does the AOR arrive by mail or email?

Thanks,

if you didn't mention an email address in your application form you should receive a number by regular mail.

Hi! My husband is planning to apply for QSWP this April 2015. I know that 'proof of funds' is really not required during the application for the csq, how about during the application for PR after getting a CSQ, do we still need to show proof of funds or not anymore? thanks!
You just need the financial agreement signed when you apply to Quebec this means that you "declare" you have those funds, no proof of funds will be asked during federal stage if applied through QSWP. Good luck! I will apply too

Umm, no. You receive your CSQ from the government of Québec. They have nothing to do with your federal application. The med request is sent by the visa office which is processing your federal application. You can only apply federally though, once you received your CSQ from Québec. These are two completely non-coherent processes with two different governments - namely the provincial government of Québec and the federal government of Canada.

Hi all,

I just read the information on quebec website about new AOT 2015..

link: http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/permanent-workers/official-immigration-application/requirements-programs/list-areas-training.html

and it is mentioned that The 2015 List of areas of training (PDF, 212 Kb) applies to all applications as of January 26, 2015...

pls clarify below doubts..
1. Is it applicable to all applicants or only to applications received after 26 Jan 2015?? ???
2. As per this list, chemistry is now having zero (0) points, which was previously in priority... and unfortunately my AOT is chemistry... so does this means that now I have lost my all points for AOT as my AOT is chemistry???? or it is something different than my understanding.?? :-[

guys.... please, please help me to understand this...

I think it means that the list of AOT is applicable to applications that came in on or after january 26, but not before that.

The sad truth is that we won't know until we see it happening. It was the same with the introduction of the LMIA last June. The said that all applications as of June 22nd are affected and what happened? They refused all LMO applications still being in process. My LMO application was filed on June 9th and returned on August 13th as refused due to the recent changes of the regulations, even though our HR office called CIC before and they told them that my application would not be affected.

The thing with CIC is - they do whatever they want. They adjust and change the rules to their convenience at all times. By saying "applies to all applications as of January 26, 2015" it could either mean "applies to all applications submitted after January 26, 2015" or "applies to all applications, including those still being in process, as of January 26, 2015". Is that done purposely? Of course it is. By using this sort of broad phrasing they are keeping their options open. Like I said, it was the VERY same thing with the change from the LMO to the LMIA. I know this is not what you want to hear (trust me, I've been there) but at this point, all you can do is wait and hope. :(

Hi Marlee,
It is really not something to be expected for applicants like me who have waited for almost 41 months just to hear this ******* rule change and it squares all the time, efforts and money invested to nil.....

If they dont need any more immigrants, why dont they publish it openly...??
why to play such harsh games with lives of hundreds of applicants who have built their lives dreaming about getting PR and day in - day out, we have made so many efforts for this dream. Me and my wife have learnt french language for almost 3 years, just because they have announced that B2 is the minimal language requirement, so we had to meet this rule... but now change in AOT.. how to cope with this????

God.... I am now losing my hope... I feel that I am out of this rat-race now and feeling very sad, and depressed ....

this is really a cruel torture happening from this immigration authorities with thousands of immigrants like me who have built their lives around the dream of getting PR (those were only because of the rules when we applied, and now suddenly rules are changed)
If they wanted to change the rules, why on this earth they have accepted applications for previous AOT in priority basis and then suddenly giving lesser/zero points for the same priority AOT (such as Nursing and chemistry).

they must have considered the older applications based on rules prevailing at the time applications were submitted..

very frustrating and heart-breaking it is :( :( :(
