The two most popular economic immigration programs in Canada are Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC) and the Quebec Skilled Worker (QSW) program. Neither program requires a Canadian job offer to be eligible to apply. The government of Canada recently announced significant changes to the FSWC, which were reported on in CIC News last month.

It is important that prospective applicants choose the program that best suits their professional strengths and their immigration goals. To help future applicants in the important decision of choosing an immigration program, CIC News presents the pros and cons of each program:

The Quebec Skilled Worker Program

Current Status: Open and Accepting Applications

Approximate Processing Time: 24 months (varies by country of application)

Visa Received: Canadian Permanent Resident Visa

General Information:

Selection System?
Points-based. Must receive 49 points to be eligible to submit as a single applicant, and 57 points as a couple or family.
Intake Quota?
No. There is currently no limit to the number of applications this program may receive.
Eligibility?
Yes; applicants must have a degree or diploma in one of 110 targeted areas of training/fields of study
Language Requirements?
In theory no, but a certain level of French may be needed to make sufficient points.
Process?
Two-step process. First a Quebec Selection Certificate is obtained. Next, the entire application is reviewed on a Federal level for health and security issues.

This may be a good program for you if:

You want to become a Canadian Permanent Resident
You intend to initially settle in the Province of Quebec
You want to begin your application process today
You speak French and understand French or are interested in learning
You want to enter a strong labour market for your specific field of study

Hi DebR thanks for ur nice suggestion I'll mail to Mr. Jerom. Last week I talked with Faizul, he informed me previously it took 4 weeks. Let's wait for result though it's not obligatory for me as per previous rules as well as me and my spouse both completed DELF. I think you are senior & active member in this forum so can u tell me ur expert assumption how long take time to complete total process(PPR). Actually I am looking forward to new rules FSW immigration. I am waiting last 17 months for QC!!! :p
sarkes01, it's very hard to tell about the processing time, but though the immi process is now going faster then the previous, so it would be possible to get the interview call / CSQ quicker. I think you will call in the next mission. And it's a great luck for you that you have no barrier with the french, but i have that.
And though you have 63 without french(you+Spouse) and adaptability points then it is sure that you will get the CSQ. Because you are getting min 4+2 in french and in adaptability min 3 and total 63+6+3= 72 (As min) where the total passing mark is 63.

I cant understand why you people want to do DELF.

DELF = Diploma d'etudes en langue francaise

you only need points . so keep trying TCF a Quebec

DELF/TCF /TCF for university ;D
