Tajdar,

As Shahi has advised, based on ur current country residency u may apply to BIQ in Damascus.
However, as u can still apply to BIQ Hong Kong, I would recommend it to u rather than that of Damascus, as it's processing time is evidently faster.

Good luck.

Hi to all,
I have some questions if you can help me please ...

- I am principal applicant, I finished University of Law and I worked 12 months in Layer office full paid time, this was also my practice. Before, 3 years ago I worked as a Bank Teller for 9 months. I also was volunteer in Red Cross for 9 months when I was in Army, in my country this is a Civil Army. So Im a little confuse, how much points can I get for my work experience?
- My wife just finished her university and she is graduate engineer of industrial management ( 4 years here in Serbia ) , dont have any work experience. Im also not sure how much points she can get for her education ?
- What is the different between TCF for Quebec and TEF for Quebec ( TEFaQ ) ?

Hey miki10..

Welcome to the forum & to our thread.

Points for experience (up to 8 pts) are calculated based on accumulated paid-work durations in 5 years preceding your application date.
So, you have 12 months (as jr. lawyer) + 9 months (as Bank Teller) which means 4 pts out of 8.

I am not sure about the duration in which u were a volunteer in Red Cross.
Anyways, always refer to the rule mentioned at the beginning.

As for your wife, she's eligible to earn 3 pts, which are all points awarded to spouse education.
Please note that there are additional 13 pts could be added for your wife, depending on her specialization & field of training (4 pts), age (3 pts) and language proficiency (6 pts)

The main diff. berween TCF for Quebec and TEF for Quebec is that they organized by diff. organization bodies.

TEFaQ is mainly the program designed by Alliance Francaise (TEF) but is tailored to match Quebec applicants needs.
- oral Comprehension : 40 minutes
- oral Expression : 35 minutes

TCF for Quebec is a program made to match Quebec Ministry of Immigration standards.
- listening comprehension (30 questions).: 30 minutes
- spoken expression (6 questions).: 15 minutes

Please visit Alliance Francaise web site for more information http://www.af.ca/international-diplomas/

I urge u to take the online assessment on Quebec Immigration official web site, which will definitely help you.
http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/permanent-workers/epi.html

I hope this would help u with ur first steps as Quebec applicant.

Good luck.

Thank you @Iceberg
My wife finished High school for food technician, so Im wondering is there any chance to get some extra point for that?
I take the online online assessment on Quebec Immigration official web site and I pass if I put that my France language is on Intermediate level, so I planing to take TCF for Quebec in February 2011. and then we will send our application.

miki..

I would recommend that u submit ur application sooner. You can file ur application & while waiting proceed with ur French courses.
This way u gain time & work on improving ur position while waiting.
Just mention ur plans to take such course or even add reservation receipt.

As for your wife, she would earn 2 more points if this degree is matching "Professional Cooking (DVS - 1,350 hours / 1.5 years)" mentioned in the training list.

Please refer to the training list on Quebec Immigration web site.
http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/en/diverses/list-training.pdf

Finally, make thorough study to ur case before u proceed. ;)

THanks again Iceberg
Im not sure is it a good decision but I must take that risk because without TCF for Quebec on Intermediate level we dont have chance, that is why I ask you for Experience and education, I am trying to see is there any chance for some extra points.

University of Law - 10 points
Work Experience 1 year ( maybe 2 if they accept my volunteering in Red Cross ) - 4 points
Age 29 - 16 points
French - at this moment - 2 points
English - dont have IELTS , TOEFL... - 5 - 6 points

My wife
University of industrial management - 3 points
High school for food technician ( testing of food quality ) - ?
Age 25 - 3 points
French - 4 points

Its not enough , I know :(

Hi guys,
I have received my AOR yesterday from VO Kuala Lumpur. It stated that it takes an average of 6 months to process the application under quebec skilled worker category. However, there may be additional delay if someone is not resident of the country they applied from. I checked my ecas and it says "In process". Now, just waiting.
Regards
Shahzad
