Hi,

I was wondering if you receive correspondence like this?

THIS IS A REMINDER EMAIL - PLEASE READ EACH SECTION CAREFULLY TO SEE IF IT APPLIES TO YOUR APPLICATION. FOR ANY DOCUMENTATION OR CORRESPONDENCE YOU SEND, PLEASE INCLUDE A COVER PAGE THAT LISTS YOUR NAME, DATE OF BIRTH, UCI AND APPLICATION NUMBER.

I paid RFRP after this.
Yeah I received that back in May, but it's just a generic email they send out, it's not a formal request for the fee. We paid the fees back then and sent them via case specific enquiry, but they still sent out actual RPRF (saying we "hadn't paid yet" which wasn't true) when we got medical, so we just resent the same receipt to the email they provided in the actual RPRF email.

Hi Smearingo, thank you so much. This is perfect. Last quick question about Police clearance certificate. Can I get the PCC from my Embassy in Canada? I have done that previously for another application.
I think it should be fine. It very much depends on which country you come from.
For mine, I cannot do that at the Embassy/Consulate for this document.

But if it worked well before, it should be fine. CIC needs original copy (and if it is not in English or French, a notarized translation should be accompanied with the submission too). And CIC understands quite well how different countries have different systems of issuing such documents. So, you should be fine :)

Guys, just FYI, I've just received information that at least two other people have had their passport request submitted, after 2 weeks of the medical exam submitted. I don't know much about their timelines, all I know is they've submitted it from abroad (as in not in Canada).

Keep up hope!

Yeah, inland applications actually process slower than outland applications :(

Makes sense to me. It's a matter of time, for applicants who have their permits and work in Canada, doesn't make any difference.
But for a student coming from abroad for example, they need to process those applications fast enough
so they can get here in time. Same applies to a couple that got married and sponsors their wife/husband. Do you think they should
give priority to inland applications or outland? :)

I think for inland application under QSW it should take around 13 months (as metioned in their website) from start to finish. ;D

If only it was that simple, a lot of people end up having to move back home due to work permit expiring and because there are such long wait times.

if you think about it too, for express entry, it takes 6 months to process the application if you are inland/outland. this makes me think that CIC is aware that 13 months is way too long to wait to get permanent residency, especially if you're in the country.

plus, if you're inland, you've already have gone through the immigration process (As a student/worker), why should you wait longer?

anyways, no point in getting in this debate but it's super frustrating. just giving my 2 cents. we have no choice but to wait!

Really? You don't need to go back if you have applied for PR and it is under processing.
I still think 13 months is not too bad if you consider the several years it takes to get PR in other countries. ::)

Let's hope we hear good news soon :)

Hello!

I'm wondering if someone can help me... I received the notification to pay for the RPRF on April 18 which I paid on April 20 and sent them the mail (and received an automated response) but in my online status it doesn't appear the payment...

Here's my timeline as it appears in the online status:

We received your application for permanent residence on December 7, 2015.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on March 8, 2016.
We started processing your application on March 9, 2016.
Medical results have been received.

My question is does the payment of the RPRF has to appear there or not? Someone here paid the RPRF and never show in the online status? Tbh I'm kinda worried because it's been already 3 months :/

Thanks!!

Hi l_jimen,
That's exactly the situation I have, so I'm hoping that's normal :) only difference is that I've paid it more recently (last week).

It definitely never shows up in ecas! What you can do to see if they did get it though, is to find the "receipt number" on the RPRF pdf receipt you sent them, and use that to log into ecas (pick the identification method as "receipt number". If that brings you to your application, you're good!

Hey Vinc360,
I didn't knew about that... Now you scared me: i've paid it last 29th (so exactly a week ago) and I cannot login using the receipt number
Do you know how long does it usually takes to be able to login like that?
Thanks!

In my experience I'd give it at least 2 weeks for pretty much anything to update on ecas, but I couldn't tell you for sure about the receipt since I didn't try myself until a month after I paid.
