My boyfriend has received letter that now they need his passport to process visitors visa. He lives and works in Qatar. There has been some talk that this could be for up to 10 days. This is impossible for someone working for an airline and literally flying every few days. We are struggling to get any straight answers despite contacting people through every avenue. Does anyone have experience with this? Someone suggested traveling to Abu Dhabi, but I think that is a pretty ridiculous expectation and also unsure it would even work after investing the time and money to get there. This does not seem like a unique situation and bear in mind this is for a tourist visa!!! I am Canadian and personally shocked and appalled.
