Hi there everybody,
Looks like I am not alone with similar problem with PRTD...

They (CIC) have had more than enough time to process and send my PR card to me (since March 6th 2016) but even after calling and messaging them there was nothing to do but waiting.
Came back to Slovakia from Canada in June 8th but my PR card is still under process.
Coming back to CA in July 12th 2016 and need this travel document to get back.

I am not sure if I can go there by person because somebody from slovak embassy in Bratislava told me that they (Vienna) do not accept "walk in" visitors and they will invite me if needed.
If I knew that they would do it in few days I would send it with no worries. But if it is 4-5 weeks as someone responded to my email that is already too late.

Does anybody know what is the best way to get this travel document in Vienna?
Is it ok to send passport by mail these days? No problems with lost docs or something?

Thanks everybody for any response.

Vienna is not walk - in for sure, they need appointment in advance, but their processing times are quite fast, some say in 1 day, or same day.

I curious to what happened to your application?

I also applied for visitor visa and my visa office is in Vienna. Althoigh the processing time is 8 days now after 28 days I did not hear anything from them for a simple visitor VISA for 14 days stay. If I do not get passport request today I will lsoe my flight and the conference I was supposed to give a talk in. But no one really cares abot the delay consequences.

I'm curious - other people in this forum reported last year that they walked in in the morning in Vienna and received their PRTD in the afternoon. I will be in Europe later this summer and may not have my PR card until then.

I emailed Vienna and did not get a satisfactory response - they only advised me to submit a full application from. Nothing about processing times etc.

Curious to hear what other's experience was recently

I am in Switzerland and need a PRTD to return to Canada. When you say processing time is 2-3 weeks do you know what that entails? Would I have to go to Vienna to drop off documents? Do I have to leave my passport?

Paris is closer to me but I can't seem to get any responses to my emails which is rather concerning. I have lived in Canada for the past 10 years and I just want to go home!

I think you can't walk in to Vienna Office. You need to send your application along with your passports. They said plan with 2-3 weeks to get it... I hope you can make it!
