In the spousal sponsorship checklist it says "If you (the principal applicant) are living in Canada, provide proof of your status in Canada (e.g. copy of temporary resident visa, study permit, work permit, etc."

What kind of proof is acceptable if my husband is just a visitor and CBSA doesn't stamp passports anymore? He didn't receive any documentation upon entry.

Thats strange, because they should stamp his passport upon entry. I visited last October and i received a stamp so i dont know about any change in that procedure.

He landed at YVR we even went to the CBSA office and they said they don't stamp anymore. I think it's a recent change

I had the same issue.

Just write a letter explaining your situation. Even if your are not stamped, your have surely used the automatic process, and have been registered.

Give them your enter date, your point of entry and a copy of your flight ticket.

As said above, just include a little letter of explanation as the "proof". They will be able to see your entry in the system.

Not strange at all. Very common to not get a stamp.

Why would they not stamp? Its an easy process, it gives the visitor proof of his status and he will know when he has to leave the country.
