Hello;
Is there anyone sponsoring his/her spouse as a Protected Person (the Sponsor's Status in Canada)?
If anyone has ever had similar experience, please let me know.
Thank you in advance!

I am being sponsored as the spouse of a protected person. I have no idea what to expect from the process, there really isn't a lot of info out there...we just wait until CIC tells us to do something, and then send what they ask for.

Thank you MSP2YYZ for replying!
I had come to Canada in 2008 as a Refugee, got Protected Person in 2010. My wife sent in the requested documents by the CIC Damascus five months ago, and yet hasn't received medical forms nor any thing else.
Has your spouse received his Permanent Resident Status yet?
Thank you!

We are still waiting as well. I just sent the requested documents yesterday. My husband has not received PR yet, he went there in 2008, received Protected Person status this February. As for his PR not sure if they are waiting until my paperwork is processed before they moved forward. Also, we (our daughter and myself) completed our medicals and sent them on with the documents, even though they have not been requested yet. We figured it might speed things up-worst that could happen is they request them again and we have to repay, best that could happen it shaves a couple months off waiting time. We'll see.

Yes, they must confirm that there's no security issue with the principle applicant's family members (yourself and your daughter) before granting him the Permanent Resident Status.
