Hey everyone - hope your processes are going well.

I was granted protected person status in July 2018 and immediately submitted my PR application. I'm interested in adding my common-law partner to my PR application, however, my question is: if she gets the PR through my application, does that mean she will also get protected person and won't be allowed to go back to our country of origin?

To clarify: we've been together for 8 years and she's here in Canada as an international student.

Just wondering if any of you already went through a situation like this one. Thanks!
(I have looked in the forums but haven't found an answer to this question, yet...)

She should be listed no matter what if you are common law. You both should be listed on each others documents starting 7 years ago. Not sure if you applied for a TRV but she would have been listed as your common law. You should have appeared as her common law on her study permit application. No she isn't an asylum seeker.
