Hello there. Were applying for outland common law application from the UK. I was wondering what the average time from sending in the application to actually landing in Canada. I know its different for everyone but I just wanted to see what the results are. My girlfriend has to leave in November of this year because of her visa and my son will be going with her. We're still figuring out what to do when that time comes. Is it possible to land by November or even December by this year? Just looking for opinions and people who have already landed applying from uk. Thank you

Well your application could end up in London or Ottawa. Ottawa you're looking at anywhere between 5-10 months usually, London is a bit longer I think. There is a very large London spreadsheet on here which will give you an idea.

London averages around 10 months.

Your partner doesn't need to leave Canada. She can apply to extend her stay.

She living here in the uk with me on a work visa. Thats when she has to return to Canada and my son will of course be going with her. He'll only be a few months old and i didn't want to be separated from him.

Ah, my misunderstanding.

In that case, you can come with them as a visitor and wait out the rest of the PR process in Canada.

Is that possible? I thought I couldn't go back with them because wont they be sending my papers to our address here in Scotland, or even for a passport request? How could I land once I become PR if Im already in Canada as a visitor? Sorry for all the question.

You update CIC with your new address in Canada. When it's time to land as a PR, you can either book an appointment at a CIC office or you can flagpole at a US land border.

And there won't be a passport request, as Brits are visa-exempt.

Hello,
i did apply for Family Class, my husband is Canadian and is sponsoring me.
He was approved, to be my Sponsor on January,07, 2016, and all my documents were sent to Sao Paulo, Brazil.
I checked my status yesterday and is saying, Sponsorship is in Process and Permanent Residence is in process.
WHat should i expect? What is the next step?
Im hoping to dont be so long. Im not working anymore (because my work permit expired) and my husband is the only one working.

Thank you. This has put my mind at ease if we do go this route after. Hopefully it wont be a problem doing the flagpole.

Thank you. I didn't know that. I was nervous to leave here in case they would request it and I was back in Canada.
