This description is a bit confusing. Your boyfriend applied in the convention refugee category and listed you on the application? Do you live with your boyfriend in Canada? If so, you wouldn't qualify as a conjugal partner. If you had lived together for a year at the point the application was submitted, you could be common-law partners.

As for why his application is taking longer, have you ordered case notes or inquired as to the status of your case with the office processing your application?

Thanks for reply to me brother but in really lost about the website you sent for privacy information.Y do I have to send another form just to know about my process status?.When I applied, the process time were 18 months,10 months for the first stage and 8 months for the second stage. We called them n they said nothing wasn't wrong n we re still in process,so we have to wait for the 18 months processing.Im so stress about this situation.

Well, you don't HAVE to ask for those notes, it's just one mechanism by which you can obtain information about your file.

The website says they are working on applications filed December 19, 2012 (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-other.asp). Since your application was filed in January it is reasonable that you haven't heard anything, but it sounds like you should be hearing something in the next six weeks.

The waiting is difficult, but you have no other option, unfortunately.

good luck!

no i don't live with my bf in canada..and we are conjugal category....and he still wait for his PR....so nothing yet...they say some letter are gonna be sent to him..but still waiting.

OK. Conjugal is just very unusual, and quite difficult to prove the legitimacy of the relationship.

Sadly, waiting is probably all you can do. Good luck!

How many months before they have released the PR card?

hey guys, just want some idea from you...How many months to wait before the pr realeased, because the immigration told me that im still on the process of the background checks. And they were started doing that last may 2012 and still waiting...everytime i called, they told me that still on process.

I applied for permanent resident status under the live in caregiver program.

I am worried also because the expiration date of the medical examination of my husband is on december 2012....do you think he will do under re-medical again because they are waiting for my background check to released before he got his visa.
