Processing time of TRV outside CANADA

Where did you apply from?

I applied TRV from india on 8th april , i have a valid study permit and came to india with expired trv for emergency reason , i got a reply from MP office few days ago that my background check is done and eligibility review have not even started yet. The processing time it is showing on the website is 18 days only

So all you can do is wait. MP cannot expedite but got all the information they can. Having a valid study permit doesn't expedite anything. Hopefully you will get an answer soon. Also factor in up to 30 days for passport stamping once approved.

Really is it gonna take 30 days because when i got my study visa i got the passport in 5 days only , i am really worried because i have to give exams once i am back , do you know what time people like me are experiencing on average?

You will have to get a response back to someone who recently was approved from India and the timelines. 30 day stamping has been the norm for quite a while so not sure when you got your passport stamped. If within the last year then you were lucky.

When do you have to be back for exams? Are you missing school or on authorized leave?

I got my student visa in 2022 , i already missed my exams and got an extension for few days for makeup test so that’s why i am very worried as my visa is getting too latee.

Also remember it is a holiday weekend, and if eligibility hasn't even started (officer hasn't opened your file) it may still be another few weeks. May need to contact school about options.

I hope i get it soon , and will contact school about another options .I am getting very stressed about this situation now
