Nice! 30 days is the lowest I've seen it since I landed, so maybe they are finally clearing up the backlogs that the introduction of the new PR card appeared to cause.

No secrets here, I landed on November 5.

I landed on Nov 15 and provided a friend's address in Calgary at the port of entry (Coutts). I was given a page with a bunch of information on it at the port of entry and one of them was regarding PR card mailing.

"The card will be sent to the Immigration Centre closest to your residence and you will be notified by mail to pick it up, thus it is important that Immigration have a current address and telephone number."

Did you guys go to pick up your PR card at the local Immigration Centre?

we were told that it would arrive by mail.
as I can see on the cic site - the cards are available for pick-up only for renewed or replaced PR cards.

This is what I've heard as well:

I'm very surprised by your message, nix1. I've never heard of that happening when you land. Has anyone else?

I am surprised that nobody received that page. It seems a generic page given to everybody at the port of entry. I have posted the both sides of that document on my blog (see below), if you want to see it.

I didn't receive anything like that. The date at the bottom of it seems to imply that it is from either 2003 or 2005, so it's very dated either way. I wouldn't pay too close attention to it.

we were not given anything at the POE either, just COPR stapled to my passport, that's all.

one week passed. any news about PR cards? timelines are the same 30 days.

I called the call centre yesterday and asked, since it's been over 30 days for me. The lady there told me that as long as that message about delays appears under the processing time, the processing time cannot be trusted.

She said that right now the actual time is 4-6 weeks, and that my card had not been sent yet.

thank you for sharing the news, Karlshammar.

hope you receive your PR card by Christmas as a present!

congratulations to all who received their PR cards! we are just keep waiting...

Hi,

I landed on November 27th and the IO told me that my PR Card would arrive in 6 to 8 weeks. :o

I landed on November 5, and received my PR card yesterday, so exactly 35 days.

Congratulations! Did you have to go to the local immigration center to pick it up? Just wanted to make sure the page I got at the port of entry was bogus.

If the mail came in your home, did anybody have to sign for the letter and did they check the ID of the person who was signing? Thanks for your time.
