Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

Thanks alot Rathika, I was not able to mail it that day... only then did i realize i had to request from revenue canada for the Notice of assessment, Option C...i thought it was the one we get with the tax refunds...so now im waiting until that gets mailed to me...

Also, I want to know if any of you above have submitted the application to Missisagua without the Sri Lankan police report and then given it to the visa office in Sri lanka when the application reached SL?

I have a question for MellBell (or anyone else who could answer this for me), I know your husband got visitor visa to canada during the wait for the PR visa...would you please give me some tips as to how to apply for it...and how strict they are...and how u proved to them that he will return...or wat reason u gave for his visit...etc
I will b going to SL in December, so we want to apply for a visitor visa, and it would b nice if he could come back with me wen i come back...

hey Vaali,

I can answer both your questions. First - We did submit my husband's police records once the application was received by the the Colombo embassy (Husband submitted it to them directly)

Second - This is the second time that my husband was granted visitor visa. First time was last year when he visited me for 2 weeks. I believe as proof he provided banking history, and the first time he was doing his MBA, so he submitted proof of that. If your husband has any commitments like that, please ask him to put that info in writing/ If he's working, his company needs to give him a letter saying that he has been granted leave for the period that he will be in canada and he can resume his role at the company once he returns.

My husband and I hadn't seen each other in a year and that was the reason that we put down in the letter. He stated that he wants to spend some time with me and celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary together.

Thanks alot Mellbell, my husband just went backt to SL from UK after working there for two years...so he doenst have a job in SL now
When ur husband applied for the first time, had you submitted ur PR application then? if so, what did u submit to show ur PR was in process?

Im a student here...do u think theres any logical explanation i could give to show he would return? the only thing i can think of is that he will have to return to SL if they ever require him to come for an interview or to receive his PR visa...

Some ppl are luckier than us. One of my friend applied in March and got visa in Oct. Just 5-6 months. For me it took 10 months. I hear that there are many others worse than me... Hope all get good news soon

its been 13 month since colombo received her application and no news from them
