Be honest with you, I dont see any reason to reject his application for visiting visa.
Question is ...what happen if they call him or send him any letter while he is here....I hope they will have upto dated data so they will call your cell if they need any info

i honestly don't know.. we gotta wait it out and see how it goes i guess.. if they say he needs to back, then he needs to fly back stat to get things in order.. they will either call or mail us hopefully :)

So anyhow u will be with your man next month...that is good.

oh i dunno.. this can all go wrong. they don't give out visitor visas easily if ur file is in process. so they might reject his visitor visa and they might not give the PR before the 30th.

Hey..Hey..Hey...think positive as I do... all will be good soon

Hi Mel,
I am planning to apply for CHIPS notes. It is almost 7 months and 20 days. No response from SL so far. I think Gayan got letter or something by this time. So I want to know what they are doing with my file. You told me about CHIPS note process but I forgot it. Could you recap it pls?
What is the web site? How long it will take? How much we have to pay?
You told me that there are no impact by applying this. Did you discuss about this with your lawyer? I just want to ensure colombo wouldnt put my file since I am contacting like this.

google CAIPS notes and you can get a few sites that offer the service with a full translation at a cost (40-50 bucks). Go for this option because translating the thing is tough..

i got mixed reviews on the impact that it may or may not have on my file. for 1 i know that they didnt pull the file in Colombo because it was all done in Ottawa and it was just a print out of the notes from the system.

but then again there was a note made on my file stating that i did request the CAIPS notes. the thing is, that note is visible to the Colombo staff as well and I don't know how that might or might not impact the file on that end.

Colombo is a very temperamental office and we really do need to use kiddie gloves when dealing with them..

Thank you mel. So this service provdied by 3rd party? not by CIC-Canada?

They act as a 3rd party. I went directly through CIC and had a tough time because I had to translate it. Although it is cheaper, save urself the trouble and just go through them..

Note that the consent form needs to be signed by ur wife. although you are the sponsor, she is the applicant and the applicant is the primary person as most of the info on the file is about the applicant (Meds, Police checks etc). So you for sure need her consent to move forward or they wont release the info!

So that is going to take extra time too. So it is going to end up with more than 6 weeks then.

Any one got any news? If not then we need to wait for next week

nope.. translation is done as soon as they get it i believe. but i dont know dude. i didnt do it that way, so i have no idea and cant comment on 3rd party time lines..

Dhana and Shiff - Any news guys? You 2 are neck to neck for the Visa!!

We are all eagerly waiting for you to receive news, so please don't forget to keep us posted!!!!

Ohh i'm so excited for you guys.. Remember, they will either contact your spouse in Sri Lanka by phone, snail mail and on rare occasions email!

So check your junk folders, watch out for the mail guy and make sure the phones are not tied up :)

Mel...I always tell this to my girl.. she said even her phone is laughing at her now..lol
Hope we all get good news next month...that is what i said last month too..

hahahaha.. agreed... but seriously, it's true.. u need to keep your eyes and ears open for these things..

So what you had for lunch? I had sandwich.
