Procedure to file the Tatkal Passport -CAforCA, paresh

Guys
I need to apply a new passport for my daughter because of her picture on PP is more than 3 years old. Can some one please verify the procedure for applying passport under tatkal so that I can be done with one trip to passport office

Apply online and take an appointment. Parents and child should go to PP office with potocopies and original of follwoing docs
Form 1 along with Fees of Rs 600 and Rs 1500 for tatkal

Following Docs of Child
Birth Certificates

Following Docs of Parents
Income Tax Identity (PAN) Cards;
Birth Certificates issued under the RBD Act.
Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC);
Rations Cards;
Passport copy of both Parents

Additional doc
Annexure F
Annexure I
Annexure H

Address Proof

It is the verification ( annexure F) which is to be done before submitting the application & documents to passport office. See this form F and get it done first. Officers mentioned in the list are bit reluctant to sign this form unless they know you very well.

I already have annexure F taken care off. Juts wanted to ensure that rest of docs and process is in place

Ankit just clarify if the TATKAL passport is issued for 1 year only.

for child the passport picture is good and valid for 5yrs, I believe the child passport is always issued for max 5 yrs of validity
In your case you said its 3yrs old, so why you want to change the passport. Will it make any difference to your PR application

Guys, thanks for the replies. No offence but why I need new passport, what is validity of passport does not concern me at this point in time.
I know some forum members like CAforCA, paresh etc applied and got a passport for their kids in tatkal and I am looking for verification of procedure to get the same to avoid driving to passport office twice.

Once again I only need the Do's and Don'ts in applying Tatkal Passports so that I can make a successful application in one go and do not get trapped in sarkari ways of Passport office

HI, I got passport for my 7 mnth old daughter last week from Chennai RPO and I quote from my experience.


You doont need all the annexures and affidavits and documents that you have mentioned.

You need an Annexure H , on a plain paper duly filled and signed by both parents
Passport copies of both parents ( the address of one of the parents should be the same as residing address and atleast one of the parents should have the spouse name endorsed on their passport)
If spouse name is nt endorsed then a marriage certificate should be included
Birth Certificate of the child.
Photos...Thumbprints..

I furnished only the above and got Tatkal passport. For minor there is no police verification hence the PP forms are not required, but I still took them with two sets of self attested photocopies just in case I had a face off with a cranky officer across the counter.

Also the validity of passport issued for my daughter is 5 years. There is a misconception that tatkal passports are for 1yr. If the documents submitted are not enough ( compelling) and there is an urgency to travel, only then RPO issues tatkal passport with 1yr validity

Hi Ankit, Bit delay in replying you, better late then never,

first of all to inform you that in my case, RPO at Ahemadabad, did not accepted my passport application under tatkal saying that this is correction case hence i've to apply it under normal course however they also assured that correction cases takes just 10 to 15 days for the new passports...they were true, i got passports for my all family members within 12 days....they issue passports under tatkal only for fresh application, this is what RPO at Ahmedabad told me...same case happened to one more member of this forum Kevin and fortunately we both belongs from the same City Baroda, He also got the same reply from RPO that tatkal can not be possible for correction cases...he also got new passports within 12 days...

so as a first step, ensure that RPO as per your location will accept the correction passport application under Tatkal or not?? the document list you mentioned is absolutely right...

for ur baby you will need Annexure "H" on plain paper, yes on plain paper....this annexure is required for normal as well as tatkal cases.....

if your RPO accepts application under Tatkal, then make sure that you take Affidavit "I" on non-judicial stamp paper (On Rs.20/- stamp paper)......Please note that Affidavit F is not mandatory....

Rest you have all the document list with you....take them in orginal with you when u visit RPO, also prepare 2 set of photocopies of your all orginal documents to be submitted...

also visit RPO after 48 hours once u fill out the form online, not before 48 hours....let me know if you require any information, my number is 9824439590...good luck...

Ankit, forgot to mention that earlier my baby's passport was valid for 5 years, but the new passport for my daughter is valid for 10 years, the fees they taken Rs.600/-..she is 2.6 years old...also take the marriage certificate with you...

I replied to you on the April forum, please read mostly you are good but do not fo rget 4 photocopies of each document you are submitting.
