My parents got the PR for the first time in 2019 and did a landing with 5 months initial stay
Thereafter due to covid, travel bans(India) and my fathers surgeries in home country, they couldnt travel to Canada for almost 3 yrs until 2022 when they entered again.
They need to cover roughly 18 months in the remaining 22 months timeline.
Considering that they are not able to complete the residency fully, will there be any chances of them getting another 5 yr extension?

Also, will there be any impact in future TRV visa if they fail to maintain the residency requirements of 2 yrs for PR?

The five year period is at any point in time looking back (except in first five years when it is from day of landing forward five years).

If they are in Canada and remain in Canada until they have the 730 days in last five years (counting back from any day), they'll be fine. Just don't apply for a new PR card until they are sure they are in compliance, ideally with a buffer of 30-60 days. Probalby this will mean staying in canada two years straight. Not having a valid PR card is mostly not a problem while in Canada.

Issues will for the most part only arise if they leave and come back. (A few other minor inconveniences like not being able to sponsor a spouse etc)
