Hi Folks,

Greetings.

I was PR holder (me as child) since my parents applied for it and we received it.

We could not maintain the PR status. Now I want to return the Canada for UG Studies.

Could you please suggest if I have more or less or regular chances of approval of my Student visa (as International Student)?

My PR is not yet cancelled though its not valid anymore.

Thanks,

Goodwill.

1. You won't be issued a study permit, as you are still technically a PR.
2. So you will either have to renounce the PR and then apply for SA or apply for PRTD on humanitarian grounds. Whether you get a PRTD depends on the strength of your H>& C grounds

Thanks much PMM.

Well, I never had a choice..It was my parents decision.

Ours is a small family and am single son, never had any financial, legal, health or any other issues.
PRTD on humanitarian is extremely difficult I believe. Moreover, they may suspect I am trying to get
benefits of low tuition cost as PR, which is not really the case. I just want to immigrate.

What should be my option? Renounce or still try H and C grounds.

I do not have problem trying H/C but in HC we will claim - I want to enter/stay permanently in Canada and
If I renounce and apply will have to show everything like I am returning back.

Which path I should take?

Please suggest.

Which path you take is ultimately your choice. None of us can make that decision for you.

Whether the PRTD under H&C has a chance of succeeding will depend on elements such as your age now and how well established your family was in Canada before you left. The closer you are to 18/19 year old, the better the chances of success. Once someone is 21+, we really see refusals increase. Similarly, if your family got PR but never really established themselves in Canada (i.e. lived and worked here for several years), this will work against you.

Again, ultimately your call.
