Finally I got my LMIA on 3 July, after more than one year of applying. It will expire on 03.01.2026. Now I have to apply for work permit.
My CRS score is 469 and a positive LMIA would have given me 50 points, But now its of no use.
Good thing is that instead of staying on visitor record I will have work permit.

At least your work permit is still valid and didn't have to restore so you can extend your permit. Honestly even with the 50 points, your CRS is still low with current draws.
Actually my earlier work permit had expired and my application for extention (since LMIA application was pending) was rejected. I applied for visitor record which is granted for only for 2 months. So LMIA came at the right time and now I am applying for work permit.
So WP expired within the last 90 day to restore status to worker and reapply? Is it high wage? There were major changes on restoration announced on May 28 so make sure you can apply for WP inside Canada.
My PGWP was expired in Aug 24. Since my LMIA was pending I applied for work permit in August 24, which was rejected in December 24. IRCC asked me to file for Visitor Record within 90 days
I got visitor record in June 25 which is valid till 21 August 25.
Now my LMIA has been approved on 3 July 25. Valid upto Jan 26. So am applying for work permit on this basis.
I’m always on the edge. Will they give me work permit for a longer period?
You cannot apply for a closed work permit from within Canada on a visitor record as you cannot restore status to worker. Your WP expired more than 90 days ago.
