My PGWP was expired in Aug 24. Since my LMIA was pending I applied for work permit in August 24, which was rejected in December 24. IRCC asked me to file for Visitor Record within 90 days
I got visitor record in June 25 which is valid till 21 August 25.
Now my LMIA has been approved on 3 July 25. Valid upto Jan 26. So am applying for work permit on this basis.
I’m always on the edge. Will they give me work permit for a longer period?

With your CRS score and the inability to get a WP from within Canada you should have really returned home and waited there. Much less expensive and eliminates concern that you are working illegally in Canada.

I got approval of my closed work permit for 2 years. Passport stamped. Now planning for return to Canada early next month to resume my work. I will have to do everything possible for increasing my current crs 469. Will learn French and retake English test to maximise the points. Looks difficult

Unless in healthcare, you will want to become fluent in French.
