Hi, I am in the process of applying for PR as self employed in cultural activities. While I am waiting for an answer for that, to I apply for a bridging gap or whatever? What would be the criteria in if I was working while waiting for this to come through? should I apply for a visitors visa while I wait?
Would love some help with this. :)

No Bridging Open Work Permit is available to people who have applied for PR through the self employed stream.

If you want to work in Canada while you wait for your PR application to be approved, you will first have to find an employer in Canada who is willing to offer you a full time job. That employer will then have to obtain an approved LMIA and as part of this process prove there were no Canadians he could hire for the role (the employer will also have to pay a $1K fee). If the LMIA is approved, you will then be able to apply for a closed work permit tied to that specific employer.
