Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi,

I have lived in Canada for almost 700 days now and looking to renew my PR. I landed here with my family however my spouse and kids had to go back and live in my home country for about an year.

I want to ask if my spouse and kids would also be eligible to renew their PR since I was here all the time and working for a Canadian employer and meeting residency requirements.

Please share your experience and guide me.

Thanks in Advance !

Regards,
AH

Your family members are only eligible if they meet the residency requirement of living in Canada for 730 days over the last five years. If they have not met this residency requirement - then they do not qualify to renew their PR cards (even if you do). Also, they must be in Canada to submit the application to renew their PR cards.

Also, based on your older posts, you landed in October 2010. It's too early to try to renew your PR card. You'll have to wait until 2015. If you submit an application now, CIC won't process it.

Thank you scylla!

One more question my dates for renewal or citizenship will be counted from the date I have landed in Canada or day I received my PR after landing in Canada that took additional 3 months after landing.

AH...

Date you landed.

You can not apply to renew your PR card earlier than 6 months before it expires. Otherwise, your application will not be processed. You can apply for your wife and children too but they have to meet their own residency requirements. They do not meet the requirements automatically just because you do.
