We( Me& my Spouse) were issued PR on 2013-04-05 with expiry on 2019-06-01.During this period my spouse brother who lived in India was diagnosed with aggressive brain tumor( Glioblastoma grade IV).He had to under go two major surgeries, followed by series of chemotherapy sessions& frequent Hospitalizations.Since there was no body to take care of him so our presence was frequently required.for medical & nursing. Unfortunately he passed away on December, 27, 2017
The period of expiry of PR on PR Card indicated was 5 Years & about 2 months. During the period indicated on PR Card we have spent 778 days in Canada & 717 day in 5 years duration.I have applied for renewal of PR CARD on 28th March 2018
My questions are (I) Are we eligible for renewal of PR CARD. (2). Presently we are in Canada & will be attending the marriage of our younger son in USA On 2018-07-06. . Can we apply for Travel documents if we do not get our PR CARD in time. Regards Markanday Jagdish Chander

I'm confused. The expiry date on your PR card is irrelevant. How many days did you spend in Canada with 5 years of your submission date? Are you saying it is 717 days?

The PR card issue and expiry dates are irrelevant so when did you land in Canada if 2013-04-05 that is when the initial 5 years period starts and you must stay for 730 days between that date and 2018-04-04.

If you expect to complete only 717 days by 2018-06-01 you are significantly short of the 730 days so if you have applied to renew you could be subject to further investigation and even worst case revoke of PR. So based on your post for reasons to be away might be best to prepare a solid H&C case just in case you get further scrutiny.

Suggest you look again and determine how many days you actually have between 2013-04-05 and 2018-04-04 as just is not clear from your post

Note by the time you leave for the US for 2018-07-06 and reenter the 5 years is determined back from that date so any days that you had in Canada during period after 2013-04-05 start to disappear from any credit you had due to the 5 year look back at each new entry to Canada

Thanks for suggestion. During the obligation period, My brother-in-law was diagnosed with aggressive brain tumor . We had to visit India. As & when he had to undergone operation ,chemotherapy & hospitalization, we had to go, as no body except his wife was there to look after him.Unfortunately he expired in Dec 2017 in-spite of best treatment.. Will IRCC will consider it on humanitarian ?

Unfortunately it doesn't sound like a very strong argument since he has a wife. If he was in India entirely alone - that would be a much stronger case.

Why could not his wife take care of him? That would be the basic question they would ask.

I was under this impression that I have to complete 730 days as PR obligations as per dates mentioned on my PR CARD, Which reads as
1. PR Issued on 2013-04-05
2. PR Expires on 2018-06-01
During this period I have spent 776 days in Canada other wise 718 days.
My submission is , How will they calculate obligation days

1. It is 5 years from the date of your "landing" not the date the card was issued, that you need 2 years residency

PR card expiry is irrelevant. If you didn't meet the RO when you applied, I suggest you withdraw your app ASAP.

My date of landing was 2031-04-05 which completed five years on 2018-04-04.( Days 718)Pl. Suggest keeping this fact in view.
Where as The PR CARD say
Landing Date :-2013-04-05
Expiry date :-2018-06-01
The extra time spent in India was to provide assistance in hospitalization, operation , nursing, of my brother in law who was suffering from brain cancer for want of man power. Can the IRCC consider it on humanitarian & compassionate ground.

Again, the PR card expiry is IRRELEVENT.

If you didn't meet the RO when you applied, withdraw.

Unlikely. As per your previous posts, there were other family members including his wife with him, so no need for you to stay. It also doesn't cover the entire time you were gone.

When did you actually apply and how many days have you been in Canada if you look back 5 years from the day you applied?
