PR renewal for Spouse who hasn't met residency obligations

Is your son and spouse trying to move to Canada for 2-3 years without leaving?

Hi, I’m in a similar situation. My wife’s and son’s PR cards have expired, they’re currently in the U.S., and they have zero days of physical presence in Canada over the past five years. I’ve recently become a Canadian citizen and am considering bringing them to Canada by land in a private vehicle. What did you end up deciding, and how did it work out for you? please advise. Thank you

It was a highly irresponsible thing to let the cards expire , more so when a child is involved . Possibly no healthcare , access to schools ( dependent upon province )

Wasn’t the best idea but we don’t know much about their lives. Without knowing things like why they want to return to Canada at the point, how old their child is, why they didn’t meet RO and why they didn’t move back to Canada with the father, when they get PR and how much time they have spent in Canada since then, where they plan on settling, etc. makes it tough to comment. It may even make sense to renounce their PR and get sponsored again depending on their situation.
