Hi,

I am a first year PhD student in University of Toronto, Ontario. I completed my Masters during September 2010 to January 2012 at University of Toronto. Then I went back to my home country (India) and came back to join PhD in January 2013. Including my Masters, I have 28 months of full time RA experience. Does this count towards FSW or any other PR program? I read somewhere that any work done while enrolled as a student does not count. I don't have any other work experience. Which PR program(s) am I eligible to apply to?

Thanks.

Based on the information you have provided, the only PR program you might currently be eligible for is the Ontario PNP stream for Masters graduates. Visit the Ontario PNP web site and research the requirements there to determine if you qualify.

PNP seems to be only for soon to be graduates and I have just started my PhD. This other thread says that even TA/RA can be considered for the 12 month employment requirement for FSW - canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/canadian-permanent-residency-and-teaching-assistantship-t43474.0.html

Is this true?

I'm not familiar enough with the PhD stream of the FSW program to comment. I would ask this question in the FSW section of the forum.
