Dear Experts i have a important question to ASK; I AM CONFUSED ;

LANDED -5TH JUNE 2015 FIRST TIME IN CAD
GOT MY PR CARD IN AUGUST 2015 ; EXPIRY DATE ON PR CARD 25TH AUGUST 2020.

FOR PR TO MAINTAIN WE NEED 5 YRS .
FROM WHERE SHOULD I COUNT FIVE YEARS - 5TH JUNE 2015 LANDED DATE OR 25TH AUGUST 2015 ??

THANKS

Help for people counting the days.

file an ATIP request is the CBSA for travel history. It is free under the privacy act for your personal history.
It takes about 30 days to receive by email and contains a inbound and outbound.

I recommend this as you can not rely solely on the passport stamps as land crossing to us are not register by stamp.
Also include a photocopy of this report help reduce wait time as this is typical the same document they use to calculate your days.

Hope this helps.

To maintain your PR status you need to have resided in Canada for 2 years out of a 5 years period.

You need to meet the RO in the first 5 year period from your landing counted from 5th of June 2015, as well as any rolling 5 year period after that. Once you have been a PR for more than 5 years, they always look at the past 5 years.
