Hi Everyone,

Congratulations to those who got their PR.
I got the ITA on June 2024 , AOR - August 2024 and Biometrics Sept 4 , 2024. Its been 8 months with no updates from IRCC.
I applied for GCMS notes in march 2025 and it shows the file is in process, Canadian experience - in review.
Is anyone else in the similar situation? I have friends who applied months after me and have already gotten with PRs.
I am not sure what to do at this point. can someone please suggest.

Thanks

Hey Harmol, I'm sure you've heard this advice but there's nothing else to do but wait at this time. You've been waiting for almost 10 months now considering your AOR was in August, so maybe try calling them and asking for an update since the approximate application waiting time is around 6 months right now. If it makes you feel better, if there was a big issue with your application, they would have communicated that, and sent a PFL. Rare situations like this happen, but just stay strong, everything will work out.

My application was stuck without updates for 5 months after my medical was completed so I understand how you feel.

1. You should call IRCC and insist your application be flagged as exceeding regular processing time. The flagging sends a message to your processing office that your application has exceeded the normal processing time and needs to be worked on. I called several times before an agent let me know this was even an option. They will tell you waiting happens but you should politely insist on getting this done. It does not guarantee an immediate response but its another step you can take rather than just waiting. Confirm the agent you spoke to did it by calling another time and making the same request. If the first agent did it when the second agents goes to flag it the system will not let them because they can only put an alert once every 90 days.

2. If you are certain you did nothing wrong, you can contact your city MP (Member of Parliament) and plead your case. If your MP takes up the case your application is sure to move forward. I received my P1 before the date I set to reach to my MP so I didn't take this step personally but I have read several success stories from people who contacted their MPs after months of waiting.

Its been 10 months of you waiting so i will say call IRCC to flag your application immediately and reach out to your MP as soon as possible too.

ALL THE BEST
