PR confirmation portal timelines

I believe they are issuing ecoprs based on ITA or AOR date. I saw a fb post where a guy with Jan 30 P2 getting his Ecopr. But, he got his ITA and AOR back in April/May

There’s no pattern, so guessing is pointless.


I know two people who received their ITA in October 2024 and AOR in November 2024, and they got their eCOPR today.

I think at this point it has become clear that these confirmations are being issued at the discretion of the officer and their availability to work on issuing the documents. Any interpretation of order or pattern in their workflows is probably just based on the sequence in which the applications appear on their screens. Later applicants who receive confirmations earlier than others are probably just lucky tearaways passed on to other case workers with free time.

My wife and dad were visiting me for the first time (dad on a visitor visa, wife on SOWP). I was also returning with them and had a valid work permit and visa. We had to wait in line for 5 hours because no visa officer was available to examine/interview everyone (there were over 50 people in the line). After a long wait, we were taken from the queue to another section of the airport and told to sit down for another hour. Then, at random, an office staff member (who obviously wasn't an immigration officer) took everyone's landing documents and passports, sat down in front of his computer, printed everyone's work/study permits, and handed them out like movie tickets. No document verifications, no checks, no questions, nothing.

This was pretty much what happened when I was at the Montréal airport. There were barely any case workers, whoever was around worked at their own pace and didn't really care about the amount of people waiting. When the crowd got too big, they asked people to stand in line outside (this was after hours of waiting). Students were rounded up and handed mass-printed permits.

What is the option we should press when calling IRCC? If anyone can instruct i can try to talk to an agent. Is it address change? Also how to which VO is processing our file?

I found "2-3-1-0" is quite easy to get an agent. Hang up if the line is busy and try until they put you in waiting queue and ask them about your VO.

IRCC seems to be in a mess these days. After my P2, they asked my outland dependent to send their passport within 30 days. Once the passport arrived in Ottawa, we received an email stating that the principal applicant (PA) has not yet landed in Canada (I did not receive ecopr), and they are unable to print the COPR and visa for the dependent until the PA's status is confirmed. They also asked us to inform them once the PA is confirmed so they can proceed with the COPR issuance.

Why don’t they coordinate things properly? It’s such a waste of time for everyone involved.

Hey, Can you confirm when was this?? My spouse is waiting for his passport and COPR and me as PA still waiting for my eCOPR. Why on earth do they ask for passport. And we also received out Closed WP and SOWP in the meanwhile. If they return the passport then at least he can travel.

It is happening right now. The dependent's passport is in Ottawa. For a friend of mine, IRCC returned the passport after about a month without stamping anything since confirming the PA was taking about three months.

Its awful to have no clue on the process. I hope the situation changes gradually.
