PR card renewal outside Canada-sign address

Dear all,

I need some help about my PR card renewal urgently.
I am eligible for the renewal (satisfy the rule of staying 2 of the last 5 years). But I am currently outside Canada and will mail my application through my friend within Canada. My question is in "sign section" of the application form, what city and province should i provide? The city where i submit my application (which means my friend' city in Canada) or where i fill and sign the application form?

1. Sign the city and province you are actually located in outside Canada. Anything else and its misrepresentation.

2. What is the remaining validity of your PR Card? Were it to expire prior to approval and issuance of the new one could you get back to Canada?

Note CIC operational policy is to get Out of Country PR Card applicants to pick up their cards in person. This so they can verify declared passport stamps...its amazing what you can do with a high quality laser printer nowadays and CIC want to make sure the copies match what's on the passport booklet.
