PR application for Quebec Skilled Worker through PEQ. Timeline Share

This post concerns the applicants who has applied for PR after CSQ, specificially for those who obtained CSQ through PEQ.
I hope that I and many others could share timeline so that we better understand where we are in our process.

For my case, my application for PR was mailed to Nova Scotia after buffalo closed, therefore my documents were directly sent to Ottawa. (and not Buffalo)

April 16th 2012 - Obtained my CSQ under PEQ
July 26th 2012 - ECAS shows that my application was received
Aug 23rd 2012 - Got an email from Nova Scotia that my PR Application is considered complete at will be sent to Visa Office
Aug 28th 2012 - Got an email from Ottawa asking me to perform Medical Test.
Sept 6th 2012 - Medical Exam performed (Clinic told me they mailed the results to Ottawa on the 1st of Oct)
Today(Oct-17-12) - Yet ECAS doesn't yet show my results is received.

The processing time seems to be yet unknown as Ottawa visa office is going through transition after buffalo's closure. I will update more info as I talk to the laywer and my friends in the same boat. I wish this post gets very active by your support! Thank you!!

Would like to share my time line too:

March 13th 2012 - CSQ obtained
May 11th 2012 - ECAS ( PR application received )
August 15th 2012 - Medical reached Ottawa
around 3 weeks later (approx) - ECAS ( Medical received )

Still waiting to hear from them!

I've talked an immigration lawyer meanwhile. He told me his clients who applied after buffalo's closure in May(under QSW) has obtained their PR in the month of October. Ours should be coming soon. Hope this thread become more active with lots of people!

Well my case is a little different i guess, i got my CSQ in January 2012,
PR application sent in Feb 2012
Medical test done on March 20th 2012 and received in April 2012
and on October 24th 2012 i received an email from OTTAWA telling me that they are processing my application. So, i am waiting and have not heard anything since then…waiting…waiting and getting tired of waiting lol…

For what the lawyer told me, there seem to be big complication associated with PR application sent to Buffalo before its closure in May (due to transfer of applications from Buffalo to Ottawa.
My case is after Buffalo was closed, theroefore I am sorry my timeline may not correspond to your situation.
Still best of luck. If I recall correctly, there is a big thread between people in your situation in this website.

App received Sept 4
AOR and Medicals requested Oct. 19
the doctor sent the meds but ecas hasn't reflected it yet.

it seems that after they receive the meds there is a silence for a few months :S

So, I get that application that were sent directly are processed independently from the ones that were transferred from Buffalo? You're lawyer suggests that the processing is perhaps moving faster?

Yes, the processing time is way faster than buffalo. I can imagine you getting yours fairly soon, if what the lawyer said was true. So we just have to be thorough and not make a mistake. In my case, I just got an email today that my background/declaration form was incomplete. I plan to resend tomorrow. If anyone knows what is better btw fax and mail please let me know. Also if you have an idea how much the delay will be, please share with me!!

Hi ghompeq,

First of all no body knows how long any of this takes! so to give you an exact timeline would be really hard. However, CSQ processing time depending on the class you apply in and takes around 6 months and thats of course presumably your documents are complete and that there is minimal or no lost time which usually arise when they start asking for further information or more documentation!

And the PR processing time afterwords is the same! I'm into my 6th months post PR application (total time) and after two and a half months post Medical was sent and reached! and i'm still waiting!

So you are probably looking in to a year an a half on average starting from the time your CSQ application is sent to the day you get your PR, now thats all based on word of mouth from previous applicants and pure speculations!

An update on my PR. My application is now in process. Looks like they starts processing pretty much right after medical is received.

I have contacted CIC Ottawa office as directed in the letter they sent upon requesting Medicals as it instructed: "If you have not received any instructions from this office by 120 days from the date of this letter, you are requested to contact this office directly"

160 passed before I attempted to contact them and this is what I just received:

"Please refer to frequently asked questions at:

cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/ottawa.asp

And still no activity on ECAS, not even "processing!".

Did anybody attempt to contact CIC recently and what were the message/s you received?

Not in my case.

they requested my medicals on Oct 19, I did them on Oct 23, the doctor sent them on Oct 25,
my ecas only shows "aplication received" I guess it will appear as medicals received by the end of november (based on what I've seen in other timelines)

For what I've seen on other QSW applicants, usually they have they PR after six months of meds.
