I received PPR yesterday. I'm going to send my passport today. I'm in Alberta and would like to know which xpresspost envelope should I send to CPC- Ottawa. I read it should be National but one forum member mentioned National xpresspost is for within Canada except ON. I'm confused.

I used NATIONAL (from Alberta) and it worked fine.

In case of doubts ask your Canada Post office and they will for sure give you the right option.

Yes, I did..And this is not the first time I have sent passport using National Expresspost. I never had any problem. This time also after getting PPR I sent my passport on May 2nd. It was delivered in May 4th

Official answer from Canada Post in section 2.5.2:
https://www.canadapost.ca/cpo/mc/assets/pdf/business/parcelserviceguide_nov15_en.pdf

How we define the regions within Canada
Region
Definition

Atlantic
Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick

Central
Quebec and Ontario
(includes northwestern Ontario postal codes P7A-L, P8N, P8T, P9A, P9N, P0T-Y)

Western
British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba

Nunavut East X0A

Nunavut West X0B, X0C

Northwest Territories X0E, X0G and X1A

Yukon Yukon

So, only those in Ontario and Quebec will use Regional when sending to/from Ottawa, while everyone else will have to use National.
