Guys.. I just got PPR in my email! I got sponsor approval on October 12 and the file was forwarded to my VO (Argentina) on Nov 24... how is this possible? Can this be a mistake? I am SO excited but I just can't believe this... it's supposed to be an average of 10 months.. has this happened to anyone before?

This is not a mistake, this is for real, so believe it!

The 10 months is NOT an average. It is how long it takes your VO to process 80% of applications.
When you look at the timelines a bit more in depth you will understand a bit more about this. Go to this CIC website page and click continue. It will ask you to open or save a spreadsheet, this spreadsheet has more information.

On the spreadsheet, you are looking at all visa offices' average numbers. Now change the "all points of service" dropdown menu at the top, to Buenos Aires. The spreadsheet will update now and give you numbers for Buenos Aires only. Somewhere on the bottom right you will find percentages for spousal family class.
As you can see, it has in the last 12 vmonths:
-Taken your VO 4 months to process 20% of spousal applications
-Taken your VO 5 months to process 30% of spousal applications
-Taken your VO 6 months to process 50% of spousal applications
-Taken your VO 8 months to process 70% of spousal applications
-Taken your VO 10 months to process 80% of spousal applications

So, from this you can draw the conclusion that either you were amongst the 20% who were processed in 4 months or less, or your VO asks for your passport very early on in the process.

I hope this is a sign that your processing is complete, in which case I want to just say congratulations.

Edited: Jumped to conclusions, sorry

Congrats, that must feel great. Just to comment on what Indigo said, I doubt that Buenos Aires asks for visas early and holds on to them for a while before they finally send you the visa a la New Delhi because that's not what appears to be happenening to other people going through BA judging by the timelines on the Buenos Aires thread.

Another thing, I opened a different kind of a data file that the one Indigo linked to (this one was mission-specific), and do you know that your VO only issued 134 PR visas for the 1st half of 2011 (and these are for ALL PR streams, according to the table title)? I'm sure we can conclude that they received *around* that many applications (I could not select a view to see how many demands there were, something about not having enough system resources to open their file in Excel, so I can only guess). Mine got 17,952 through by July 1st of this year (and that represents the largest workload of any VO by far according to that chart) but believe me, there are many many people still waiting.

So I guess no need to question it at this point - just consider yourself very lucky :)

Lol, I have to correct myself, that actually represents the data they have by July 1 of this year. But they did process 364 for the full 2010 compared to Buffalo's 38,000-something.
