Looks like the Liberal government is planning to implement a two-tiered processing system where we can pay a processing fee to have our application processed faster than a "free" one (ex. Express Entry profile). Mr. McCallum even refused an interview or answer whether or not they are seriously considering this option, but IRCC does include it in the current survey on immigration system (question #4 in Modernizing our Immigration System).

I personally think, in theory, this is a great idea, as they can use extra money to hire more staff to help out with the backlog. However, in reality, if outland applicants already have at least $12k CAD in their POF or inland applicants were able to pay for their college tuition fee (usually at least $20k CAD), then paying something like $100 or $200 more for a faster processing time is not an issue at all, so eventually pretty much everyone will pay for this -> processing time will be the same. Therefore, I think IRCC should charge a fee for an Express Entry profile if it can help them to get more things done.

Stupid policy. They just want to find an excuse for freaking slow process.

That's what you get for having a 380k backlog applications, an impulse receive of 25k refugees and a new focus on family reunification stream. At least with new source of money, they can hire more qualified staff.

It is a stupid idea! What if everyone pays few hundred $$$ extra and enter this faster queue? What difference would that make? Usually these kind of expedited processing is more suitable for something like business visas.

well they will do whatever they gotta do better their economy/immigration process, you can argue all you want ,our opinions don't matter .

This is moronic idea, and won't be just for couple of hundred dollars. So a pay-to-get LMIA and PNP is not enough, you have to throw in this?

Care to explain your point of view? I personally don't think it's a bad idea at all if they just impose a general fee to all applications instead of a two-tiered system.

I think it should cost as much as it does for PR processing currently. So if you want your application processed faster like say (1 month) pay the additional CAD $1050.

I'd be down with that. I'd pay that right now.

I would even suggest more, pay a little more if you dont want to show work experience, like 1 yr = 300 CAD and pay 900 CAD and get points for 3 yrs W EXP. pay even more if you dont want to verify your degrees, and pay one time handsome money if you dont want to show POF, and pay a bit extra if you dont have PCC.............................................and lastly pay 2,00,000 CAD and get going man...buy your tickets. :D :D :D

Made me instantly think of this old cartoon:

Rather than make a snap judgement, I'm going to wait and watch as more details emerge. It's possible that this system might be a slightly revamped entrepreneurship/business investor visa to subsidize the staff needed to process the Express Entry system, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if done right.
