Just sharing my experience applying for my PGWP.

I submitted my application along with my son's permit extension. I have been approved for 3 years work permit (yipee! :D)

Submitted PGWP Application Online: June 28, 2016
Received Email Approval: July 23, 2016
Received Work Permit: July 28, 2016

I hope everyone will receive their PGWP as soon as possible. Have a good long weekend everyone!

Congrats! I applied on 28 June, 2016, and have yet to receive any email approval. :(

Do you know what's the next step after receiving email approval and the work permit itself?

Do you need to head to the CBSA to get the permit itself?

Yes I know but I'm kinda confuse if I will be given 1 year PGWP because the post-graduate course is 1 academic year which is equates to 2 semesters that will last for 8 months. So I'm completely bothered if I will be given 8 months or 1 year PGWP.
Generally two semesters ( 8 months ) is considered as a 1 year program, so you should get 1 year work permit.

I just recently received my long-awaited PGWP since graduation from university here. So now I'm planning to apply for TRV since I intend to travel out of Canada aoon and return. So what is the correct link for online application that anyone here could provide? Also, it seems that there are both the single and multiple entry visa. Are they the same TRV visa that I'm supposedly applying for? And what are the documents required for the online application?

Yes. But CIC is supposed to send an official document/message under the application. Does anyone knows what happens after receiving the document/message? Do we need to do a flag polling?

You just wait for the permit to arrive at your mailbox.
