Is contacting MP helpful?
Yes it is. If your application is past processing time, your MP will help you contact IRCC directly and give you feedback regarding the status of your application. If an employer refuses to hire you because your EXT letter has expired, your MP can liaise with such employer, informing them that you are allowed to work while your application is being processed.

Hi Everyone, I have a question here and I think I can find my answer here. This is for Ontarians.

My wife graduated in Feb and we got married after that. I have PR card but my wife was going to apply for PGWP first and then meanwhile I apply PR for her with sponsorship program.

My wife has applied for PGWP on March 27th. Actually, she had UHIP until end of April. She is not eligible for OHIP until she gets her Work Permit based on Service Ontario Website, although she is working now.
Do you think she is eligible for OHIP when I have PR? What do you suggest? If she is not eligible, can I buy Health Insurnace from private providers?

Also, I have not applied PR for her with sponsership program yet. I will do that soon. Do you think if I apply for her, she will be eligible for OHIP?

Sorry guys, here was the only place I could share my concerns.

Best,
She can apply for OHIP if she has a valid permit as a spouse of a PR. If her permit is expired, then you would have to wait for the PGWP to be issued. She can also contact her school and extend her UHIP

Hi, does anyone know if I can continue to work after the expiration date on WP-EXT for PGWP? I submitted it on February 1, 2022, and I haven't received the decision yet, and today it crossed the 120 days mark (the expiration date was June 1, 2022). Do I need to show my employer any other document other than the WP-EXT for PGWP?

I am extremely sorry if it has been answered already, it's just that I am extremely worried thinking that I have to stop working/ leave my job because 120 days have passed. If it helps, I have applied for my PGWP for the first time.

Any feedback will be highly appreciated!

Please help!

You're on implied, you can continue working until you receive the decision. The date on the document is arbitrary.

Hi everyone! I am an international student, who graduated, if I apply online for the PWGP, the processing time is 144 days. Can I go through the flagpole and get the PWGP? Has anyone passed the flash drive recently?

You can unite and go together, write in a personal

Hey, yes you can keep working past the 120 days of the letter - The letter has 120 days on it because that is the service standard, if you need another letter once the first one expires you can reach out using a webform. This is what appears on IRCC website:

If we don’t finalize your application by the date on your letter
If we don’t finalize your application by the date on your letter, you can still keep working until we make a decision.

If your employer or others need proof that you can continue to work

  • you can show them this web page, or
  • if your employer is not satisfied with the information on this page, you can contact us
