I applied through paper application and it took around 4 months to receive the new copy.

@captainarabiia I have one more question if you can help me with that. I am going to apply for a TRV. In the application, I have to mention the start and end dates of the work permit. On my new WP (amended) the date is an issue is different, but the in-force date is the start date of the old WP copy. Do you know which date should I consider here? The date of issue or in-force date? The difference is of 6 months.

That's normal, your old WP may show invalid now?

They should mail out the new one soon.
Amendments are different.

Hello Sir, I am in same situation, I sent my work permit for amendment, they sent me biometrics confirmation letter and on online portal its showing invalid.I am so worried. Is it normal??

Hi,
So i am also facing the same issue. My consultant send my work permit (paper based) to ircc address.i waited for 3 months for my name on my permit to be corrected. In the end, i received the same document which was sent. Right now, i am confused either i should go to border, like will they correct my name for not. Or should i apply again. And also will i get new date on my work permit or not? Because its been already 6 months since my work permit is issued.

so when i apply for my work permit, will it contain specific province in which i am gonna be working or will it be for whole canada?
