My wife from Japan applied outside Canada and thus her application was sent to the Philippines. Last week we got a letter asking us to provide 2 documents
(1) Family Register (which I already included in the application. I guess they lost it??)
(2) Police certificate
I've sent an e-mail informing them that the Japanese Consulate in Toronto told us we won't get it for another 2 months and therefore cannot make the 30 day window period and reassured them I will mail it as soon as it is available.
They replied back with this "Your request has been favourably considered. You are given additional thirty (30) days from the date of our original request to comply. If we do not hear from you within this time, we will proceed with a review of your file based on documents and information available which could lead to a refusal."
I felt helpless and completely disappointed by this statement alone. Not to mention they didn't acknowledge my question about the family register I had previously sent them (They probably don't care either). If you're wondering why I didn't request one earlier the Japanese Consulate requires a letter from the CIC in order to request for a police check.
My wife is with me in Canada right now. We've sent a web form to the Manila CIC office about this but I'm all out of options...what's there left to do but wait and get rejected?
