Police Certificate

Hey everyone,

Just a quick question when I filed my application for Common Law Sponsorship In Canada I included my UK Police Certificate from April 2015 which I used for my OWP Temporary Application. However I have read that if you have left Canada to go back to your home country since you will need a new one or if the certificate is over 6 months old.

I recently applied for a new UK Police Certificate which arrived today, I have only received AOR on my application so far, would it be best for me to submit this new one when they request a police certificate again or submit it now?

Any advice would help thank you

IIRC, thy want the original certificate, so you would have to mail it. As you are only AOR, I assume your application is still at CPC Mississauga (i.e. they have not yet sent it on to the VO). There is a danger that if you send it to Mississauga, they will forward it on to the VO before they link it you your file. So I would wait until they request it or at least until it goes to your VO then send it to the VO.

For this reason, I would wait for them to ask and hope it is still 'in date' when they do (they used to be considered valid for 6 months). Having said that, UK police certificates are easy enough to get, just a bit of a b*lls ache!
