Police certificate is about to expire

My wife's police certificate was 2 months old when I mailed our application, and there was a 6 month expiry date mentioned on the certificate itself. Now the certificate is close to expiring and I'm wondering what I should do. Will the VO still consider it valid for 1 year or will they ask me to provide them with a new police certificate? If I'll need to give them a new one, can I send it in before they ask? I don't want to risk any unnecessary delays...

As long as your certificate was valid after they received your application, you should be fine. Don't get a new certificate unless they ask for it. Usually they won't ask for it again if your application goes smoothly and quick, but if it's lengthy with an interview, they might ask for another one.
