Police certificate if Im already in Canada

I am in Canada now for 14 months. My housband is gone to sponsor me through inside Canada sponsorship application. So my question is do I need police certificate even if I am already in Canada? thank you

You`ll need one for your home country and any country you`ve been in for more than six months. (Not Canada though.)

Yes, for any country you lived in for 6 months or more since the age of 18 except Canada. CIC will request that themselves.
