Hi all

I just wondered how I can get the police certificate from RCMP. I've asked the local police services, they said I have to do fingerprinting and they are not doing it there that I have to find the private company. Does anyone know how to get it and what the procedure of it? How long does it take to get it? By the way, I live in Alberta.

I also need some advice:
I have my application ready to send out except the Police certificate in Canada. Since I got my own country police certificate in September and it's almost three months from then. Do you think i can send my application out first and add additional documents for the Canada police certificate as soon as I get it? It's not easy for me to get any other Police certificate from my country as I either have to fly to Vancouver for 5 days or going back to my country in person.

Please help!
Thank you.

please, anyone has an idea?

One possibility is Comissionaires - click on the Personal tab for information on fingerprinting and police clearances. Do the electronic fingerprinting, it is MUCH faster. For other options, you will have to google "fingerprinting service" and the name of your location.

Um... if you haven't even applied yet, then why are you worried about Canadian police clearance? It is NOT REQUIRED. Read the instructions! Send your application ASAP with your police clearance from your home country, before it is too late.

CIC conducts name-based police clearances on ALL applicants, that is why it is not required to submit a clearance from Canada. The only time a finger-print based clearance is required from Canada is if CIC's check shows there is there is a criminal record for someone with your name. In that case, CIC will request it.

find the one nearest to you...they take around $50 and you will get this within a week. :)

Hi Jes_ON

Thank you very much for replying that!!! I know it's not required, but they said "it's strongly recommend"
I thought I need to send it just in case if they need from me than they don't have to wait for me. I don't have any criminal record though. but I need the PR processed as soon as possible cuze my PGWP expirying Dec 2013.

So you think I should just send it out without the Canada police certificate now?

Thank you for your response again! so much!

Yes you should send your application asap. Worry about the Police Certificate only if they ask you later on. In most cases, they dont even ask. Do not delay your application because of this.

Hi If you are living in Canada , Toronto then try to go here http://www.commissionaires-cgl.ca/en/services-personal/personal-fingerprinting/ will get it in 72 hours ,if do not have any criminal background.

hope that helps.

Yes, it is strongly encouraged to send your PCCs at the same time with your application. But a Canadian PCC is not one of them. Countries OTHER THAN CANADA = NOT CANADA. :)

YES YES YES

If you have a specific plan to leave Canada in the near future, and you think you have a common name, that would be the ONLY reason I would suggest doing an unrequested RCMP clearance. But you could certainly do that after submitting your application (wait until you get your AOR/file number).
